Job Overview
For over 25 years LaBella’s Albany Office has developed a strong reputation for preparing energy efficient, sustainable designs. We work on a wide variety of building projects including higher education, commercial, industrial, healthcare and K-12.

We are frequently selected for challenging assignments that demand creative approaches. We carry out thorough energy modeling for all our projects and help clients maximize incentives available for energy efficient design.

We are currently seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical project teams in our Albany, NY office. Project work will involved clients in multiple Market Sectors. This position will report to the Mechanical Engineering Discipline Leader.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise mechanical engineering staff in development of conceptual designs, final system selection, preparation of load models, and preparation of design drawings, specifications, and control sequences of operation
  • Supervise mechanical staff during project construction (submittal review, construction observation, and system startup)
  • Interact closely with electrical and structural engineers and project architects
  • Coordinate with project commissioning agents
  • Monitor and manage project financial performance and schedule
  • Interact directly with clients from the proposal phase, through design, construction, and startup
  • Maintain existing client relationships, assist in identification of new clients, and assist in business development efforts
Qualifications
  • Building system design experience focused on heating, ventilating, and air conditioning, plumbing, and fire protection is a plus
  • Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD
  • Proficiency with building energy modeling programs - Trace, Carrier HAP, and/or eQUEST
  • Familiarity with digital control systems
  • Familiarity with NYSERDA and utility incentive programs
  • Degree in mechanical engineering
  • Minimum 8 years engineering experience involving complex building systems projects
  • Strong writing, organizational and communications skills
  • Ability to work on several projects simultaneously
  • New York PE license
